OPC members detained over Wakili’s arrest gets released on bail

Three members of the Oodua Peoples’ Congress (OPC) detained by men of the Oyo State Police Command have been released on bail.
The men, who were detained since Sunday for apprehending a suspected Fulani warlord, Iskilu Wakili, were released on Tuesday to the Oyo State Coordinator of OPC, Comrade Rotimi Oguntade also known as Oluomo on health grounds.
Wakili became famous for allegedly terrorising the Ayete community and other adjourning villages in Ibarapa area of Oyo state.
But he denied knowledge of all the accusations levelled against him after he was returned to police custody from the hospital upon his arrest by the OPC men.
The OPC members include Dauda Kazeem, Awodele Adedigba and Ramon Hassan.
The OPC men were granted bail at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Iyaganku where they had been kept in custody.
According to a source, the release was sequel to the intervention of the Oyo State government and the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams.
