Jangebe schoolgirls yet to be released – Zamfara official revealed

An official of the Zamfara state government says students kidnapped from Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe, Talata-Mafara LGA, are yet to be released.

There are widespread reports of their release, and calls to state government officials were neither picked nor returned.

However, Suleiman Tunau Anka, the state commissioner for information and culture, tweeted on Sunday afternoon said that the students have not been released.

As many as 317 schoolgirls were kidnapped from their hostel last Friday but seven reportedly escaped.
