Admiral Joe Aikhomu dies from COVID-19

A retired Rear Admiral, Joseph Omozuwa Aikhomu is dead.

The former Chief of Naval Administration died from COVID-19 complications on Thursday.

Aikhomu, 65, was younger brother to Admiral Augustus Aikhomu (rtd), former military Vice President to Ibrahim Babamosi Babangida (IBB).

The deceased was the chairman of Ocean Marine Solutions (OMS). His late brother founded the firm with Captain Hosa Okunbo.

He was a member of the investigative panel on arms procurement between 2007 and 2015 set up by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Aikhomu was an expert on maritime operations and logistics in the Gulf of Guinea.

The late ex-military officer hailed from Irrua in Edo State. He was a traditional title holder.
