A mad woman who roams around the street of Amaoka Junction, Nnewi fought her helpers as they attempt to take her and her 6 year old son off the streets.
Her helpers who were recognized as workers of Anambra State’s Ministry of Women and Children Affairs rescued her and her son after several posts concerning them were made on social media.
Some concerned citizens took to their social media handle to beg the government to intervene on behalf on the mad woman and her son who roam aimlessly on the street.
The issue was looked into and the workers of the State’s Ministry of Woman and Children Affairs arrived at the location.
When they got there, they made attempt to take them off the street but the mad woman fought and struggle with them.
She was eventually taken, along with her son and they were given a nice haircut and also cleaned them up.
In her reaction following the rescue, the Honourable Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue, who personally interviewed the woman that claimed she is a native of Ichi Nnewi, Nnewi North LGA, ordered for immediate transfer of the pair to government owned facility where they will be cared for, until they are certified okay to be reunited with their family and integrated back into the society.
