Building collapses in Lagos, one dies, six rescued.

A child lost his life on Saturday when a three – storey building collapsed at Freeman Street, in the Lagos Island area of Lagos State.

While search and rescue operation is still being conducted by emergency responders, six victims were said to have been rescued alive from the rubble of the collapsed building.

THE PUNCH gathered that the victims were asleep when tragedy struck in the early hours.

Confirming the incident, the Director – General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Olufemi Oke -Osanyintolu, said the corpse had been taken to the mortuary, adding that on the spot treatment had been administered to the rescued victim.
