Actress Dakore: I was approached for drug trafficking at 21

Actress and TV show host, Dakore Egbuson Akande has revealed how she was approached to join a drug trafficking ring at the age of 21.

Egbuson-Akande made the revelation during the MTN Foundation’s Anti Substance Abuse Programme (ASAP) which held recently.

The mother of two shared how she could have been a drug trafficker in the University save for her upbringing.

She said, “You wouldn’t believe what’s happening out there. I remember when things were really tight. I was in the university and could travel abroad at that time. Somebody actually came up to me and said ‘oh, would you want to carry some drugs and you get paid when you get there?’ This was a 21-year-old me!”

Other speakers that joined the discussion on substance abuse and the lure of drugs in the Nigerian entertainment industry include Ini Edo, Folu Storms, Praiz and David Jones David.
