KILLING CONTINUES ON THE PLATEAU
Thursday, 20th September 2018 recorded another attack on Plateau communities. This time, Kwi community of Riyom LGA and Ancha in Bassa LGA of Plateau State were the targets.
Report says armed Fulani gunmen from Fass area of Jol community came into Kwi at 8:45pm and started shooting sporadically. The attackers went to the house of one Pam Musa, a middle-aged 50-year-old man and shot him severally.
Two other persons, Gyang Benjamin and Freeman Thomas were also reported injured in the attack. One of them was shot on the leg while the other on his shoulder. The two are currently receiving medical attention.
The residents of Jol community had earlier reported the presence of “one of the notorious terrorist base built up in Fass, Guava and Rankum (Mahanga). According to them, they had expected the authorities to take action in search of the area but nothing was done.
In the second incident, Fulani militants, the same day, Friday, 21/9/2018 attacked commuters around Bassa LGA.
According to report, 8 persons travelling in a car were attacked by Fulani militants who mounted an illegal road block and stopped the driver along Miango road.
Report says as the armed Fulani men began shooting at the commuters, the driver and 4 others managed to get out of the car to run for their lives but were shot in the process. They survived with gunshot wounds and are currently receiving medical attention. However, two among them were not so lucky as the attackers, who approached the car, killed them.
