Police in UK are dealing with a tragic murder incident after an 11-year-old was repeatedly stabbed at her home in Wolverhampton.

Sadness has gripped the community and neighbours after the girl died in the hospital.

According to Metro UK, the girl, named by police as Jasmine Forrester, was found with serious injuries after neighbours reported hearing a disturbance shortly before 1am.

A 51-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment to a minor injury and has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A police notice on Kent Road, Wolverhampton after an 11 year old girl was stabbed and left with serious injuries.

Superintendent Harvi Khatkar, of Wolverhampton police, said: ‘This is an extremely distressing incident and our sympathies go out to everyone affected.

‘We are working to establish exactly what has happened, and fully understand the impact that this will have on the community.

‘But we do believe this is an isolated incident, and we are not looking for anyone else.

‘Extra officers will be out patrolling the area to offer reassurance to residents.’

A woman in her 80s has also suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder and is being treated in hospital.

Police said that the man who was arrested was being treated for a cut to the hand.

West Midlands Police said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the stabbing.

The property in Kent Road has been cordoned off to allow forensic experts to conduct examinations of the scene.
