On-loan Swansea City striker Tammy Abraham has earned himself a place in Gareth Southgate’s latest England squad for the forthcoming friendlies with Germany and Brazil.
The 20-year-old has seen his international future come under intense scrutiny in recent weeks, after reports emerged suggesting he was prepared to switch allegiances from England to Nigeria.
Abraham is eligible to play for the Super Eagles through his father, who is also thought to be a close friend of the Nigerian FA’s president Amaju Pinnick.
But it appears that after already winning 13 caps at under-21 level for the Three Lions and helping them to a European Championship semi-final, he is now committed to representing them at senior level.
