Football powerhouse Argentina, are on the verge of missing the Russia 2018 world-cup after playing a goal-less draw with Peru last night in a qualifier match.
Argentina’s chances to book their place at the world cup took a further decline as their main rivals all won last night after a late flurry of goals.
This leaves Argentina in 6th position on the qualifying table. The top four go through automatically, with the side finishing fifth playing a home and away playoff against New Zealand. While Colombia were beating Paraguay, Argentina were facing a situation where their fate was no longer in their hands — even a win in the final round might not have been enough.
