Dr Awotien George, a lecturer at the Rivers State University (RSU), Port Harcourt has charged unemployed youths in the country to embrace the available opportunities in agriculture instead of remaining idle.
George, who spoke in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Port Harcourt on Sunday, said agricultural activities have become more profitable because of the country’s economic situation.
According to him, any agricultural produce is now money in the country.
He urged youths to desist from kidnapping, armed robbery, Advanced Fee Fraud (419) and assassination (hired killing) among others which could destroy them.
George appealed to government at all levels to assist farmers with soft loans, farm inputs and infrastructure such as motor-able roads to enable them evacuate their farm produce to the markets
