The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will hold a non-elective convention on August 12 in Abuja.
This decision was taken at a meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party on Tuesday.
New members of the party executive will not emerge at the August 12 convention because it is non-elective.
The committee also resolved to reinstate all states executive elected at the April 2016 congress, that were later removed by Ali Modu Sheriff.
PDP held its last national convention in May 2016, which eventually resulted in a leadership crisis. It was at the event Ali Modu Sheriff was removed as national chairman and Ahmed Makarfi was appointed as “caretaker” chairman.
