Married female teacher arrested for having sex with a student

Lindsey Jarvis, a 27-year-old married teacher has appeared in court on charges of repeated r*pe on an underage pupil.

According to Daily Star UK, Lindsey Jarvis was arrested after evidence about the alleged sexual assault was found on her mobile phone.

She is charged with two counts of rape in the third degree after allegedly having sex with the student who was less than 16-years-old.

Ms Jarvis, who quit her job due to the charges, appeared in Lexington District Court, Kentucky, on Monday where her attorney entered a not guilty pleas, US station WKYT reported.

The brunette also faces r*pe and sodomy charges.

No details have been released about the suspect but he is believed to be a schoolboy aged under 16.

Ms Jarvis, allegedly carried out the assaults while working as a a social studies teacher at Woodford County Middle School in Versailles, Kentucky.

Police said that the sexual encounters took place in two different parts of the Southern United States.

Woodford County school board said Ms Jarvis had been a teacher between August 2013 and June 30, 2016.

In August, the teacher got a new job as a teaching assistant at Veterans Park elementary School, Lexington.

She has since resigned from that position after the allegations emerged.

Detective Steve Sparkman said that the police had launched an investigation into the allegations earlier this year but she had not been charged until now.

He described how the complex operation had taken several months to put together as they had to gather crucial evidence.

Detective Sparkman said: “There are so many dots you have to connect before you can bring charges against a person.”

Ms Jarvis’s husband has stood by her side throughout her trial and appeared in court.

Lisa Deffendal, a spokesperson for Fayette County Schools said: “While we cannot comment on individual personnel issues, we can assure families and community beers that we are aware of the matter.”
