Commisioner of Police in Ebonyi State, Peace Ibekwe Abdallah’s appointment came as a surprise. The pretty police woman has given the criminals and fraudsters in the state a tough time.
Born on the 7th day of April,1963 in Onitsha, the daughter of the late commissioner of police,Mike Ibekwe from Isiokwe, who was also an Inspector General of police of the Republic of Biafra, is an amazon.
The vibrant woman has shown strength and courage to do the task ahead of her. As the second female commissioner of police in Nigeria , her career started when she got enlisted into the Nigerian Police Force as cadet, an event she described as challenging.
Her profession showed no downward spiral as she was appointed to her current status. She relocated to the Monitoring Unit, Force Headquarters.
She created a working relationship with the stakeholders and traditional rulers to promote unity ,thus to driving home the slogan “the police is your friend” .
She also encouraged a peaceful flow of operations between the all security bodies such as the Army, FRSC and customs. Crime rates became minimal, and kidnapping plots were foiled by operations she led.
Like a midwife,she always delivers. Pronouncing soothing words to the families of the kidnapped, proclaiming vows to return them back home safely. She was conferred the title of “Nne Oma” meaning good mother, by the Okada Riders Union in the state in appreciating of her good works.
The state Governor praised her and described her as being cheerful and easygoing. She has shown that she is a true woman of words, bridging the communication gaps within communities and attributing her success to the community.
