A man who climbed a high tension electric pole early this morning in Lekki, Lagos, threatening to commit suicide unless he is given N5 million has finally been rescued.

After hours of begging him to come down, he refused, insisting he would only come down if given the money.

The Police and fire service men even brought inflatable trampoline for him to jump down but he refused, they finally gave up and left.

According to Twitter users @AlmunsurE and @kenegbas, they shared the photos, officials from Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and Lagos Fire Service rescued the man when they arrived at the scene. He tried to cut himself but was stopped and taken to Eti-Osa primary health care centre where he is currently being treated by doctors.

When questioned, He said his name is Fredrick Gino from Cameroon and he doesn’t know how he got to Nigeria.
