A first-year university student is fighting for his dear life after he cut his own throat because his girlfriend who promised to spend time with him was with another man.
A 21-year old student of Bishop Braham University College Kabale identified as Obed Muhoozi is fighting for his life at Rugarama Hospital after he cut his own throat.
According to Chimpreports, Muhoozi who is a first year student of Social Works and Social Administration allegedly slit his own throat at about 4pm yesterday, while in his room at Top View Hostel because he was unhappy with his girlfriend identified as Nahabwe, who is also a student at the same campus.
The incident happened on Women’s Day in Kabale, Uganda.
It was gathered that the girlfriend had promised to spend the day with Muhoozi but disappointed him in a most unbelievable manner.
Muhoozi had called her but was surprised the phone was picked up by another male, who is believed to have been with the girl at the moment.
Out of anger, the distraught Muhoozi took a knife and slit his own throat, inflicting deep cut on his neck.
Luckily, his colleagues saw him and took him to Rugarama Hospital in time, where efforts were still underway to save his life having lost a lot of blood.
Godwin Kizza the Dean of Students at Bishop Braham University College confirmed the incident but declined to comment further on the matter.
