South African Olympic and Paralympic athlete, Oscar Pistorius, has been released from prison in South Africa Monday and placed under house arrest, Correctional Services spokesman Manelisi Wolela said.
He was found guilty of culpable homicide, or manslaughter, of his 29-year-old girlfriend at a trial in October last year.
The 28-year-old served just 12 months of a five-year sentence for the killing of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
A South African parole board last week, said it has approved his placement under house arrest and correctional supervision for four years.
His lawyer Brian Webber confirmed the release and said: “He is at home already.”
