Amazon To Sue More Than 1,000 Fake Reviewers

The largest Internet-based retailer in the United States Amazon.com, has recently filed a lawsuit in Seattle, Washington, where they will be going after 1,114 fake reviewers.

According to Amazon, they claim that these reviews have deceived and led to false, misleading, and inauthentic reviews that were bought for by sellers who were seeking to help improve how their products are perceived.

According to Amazon, “While small in number, these reviews can significantly undermine the trust that consumers and the vast majority of sellers and manufacturers place in Amazon, which in turn tarnishes Amazon’s brand.” This is actually not the first time, nor do we doubt it will be the last, that Amazon has gone after fake reviewers, going to show how seriously the company is taking these issues.

Earlier this year, the company had filed a lawsuit against several websites that were allegedly selling fake 4- and 5-star reviews, in which a review could be bought as low as $5 for a 5-star review.
