Fela Kuti’s 6 Most Influential Albums To Be Reissued On Vinyl


Fela Kuti, Nigeria’s most influential musician, a pioneer of the Afrobeat genre, a human rights and political activist, popularly known as “Fela”, will have six most influential albums reissued.

Knitting Factory Records will reissue six of Kuti’s most influential albums in their original form on vinyl. Fear Not For Man (1977), Beasts Of No Nation (1989), Everything Scatter (1975), Roforofo Fight (1972), Alagbon Close (1974) and Na Poi (1976) will be available on Oct. 16, including Lemi Ghariokwu’s iconic original album artwork.

This is to coincide with the Felabration – a week-long celebration of the life of the late Fela Kuti in the month of October.

Fela Kuti was born Olufela Olusegun Oludotun Ransome-Kuti in Abeokuta, Nigeria. He lived from Oct. 15, 1938, to Aug. 2, 1997.
