A 14-year-old boy who bragged on Facebook about stabbing his supply teacher in a racially motivated attack has been sentenced to 11 years detention.
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had been seen getting angry and calling Vincent Uzomah a ‘b******’ and a ‘n*****’ before he stabbed him once in the stomach in June.
He then fled Dixons Kings Academy in Bradford, before boasting about what he had done on Facebook in a comment that was ‘liked’ 69 times.
The boy was given an ’11-year’ sentence today – but could be free again in just three years after serving half of the six-year custodial element of the sentence.
Mr Uzomah speaking outside court
Mr Uzomah said: “As a Christian I have forgiven this boy who has inflicted this trauma and pain onto me and my family. “It was, however, important for the law to run its course and for a strong message to be sent out.”
