It was further reported that some prominent traditional rulers in the Kwara State Council of Traditional Rulers joined Sulu-Gambari to intercede on Saraki’s behalf with President Buhari.
Though the monarchs are yet to meet with the President as a result of his foreign trips in the last few weeks, it’s been alleged that Sulu-Gambari is doing all he can to ensure the leadership of Saraki is accepted by all.
Sources also divulged that the monarch had once sent a team of emissaries to the National Leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, with a view softening his stand against Saraki’s emergence as the Senate president.
Since the inauguration of the 8th Senate on June 9, 2015, President Buhari has reportedly shunned Senator Saraki whose emergence and that of his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu of the Peoples Democratic Party has been laced with crisis.
