Hotel Guards Arrest Prostitute Over $200 Theft

A 28-year-old female prostitute was apprehended by security operatives at the popular Grand Hotel Asaba, Delta State, over the weekend. They arrested and beat up a 28-year-old female undergraduate who doubles as a commercial sex worker over an alleged missing $200 in the hotel room where she slept with a man.
It was gathered that the girl, identified as Maureen Joseph, had lodged with a businessman after they both agreed on a fee.
Sources said the suspect had, before the nightfall, had sought to know from the security operatives at the gate if the businessman was in the hotel.
After it was established that the man had an appointment with her, she was allowed into the hotel premises where she further made an enquiry to locate her client’s room.
Trouble started for her when the businessman left his briefcase and went to the toilet during which she allegedly removed a $200 note from the bundle of dollars in the briefcase.
On his return from the toilet, the businessman was said to have paid her off and she hurriedly dashed out of the hotel room.
Her brisk movement, it was gathered, gave room for suspicion and the man immediately alerted the security operatives at the gate to search her, and she was caught with the $200.
Confirming the incident, the leader of the security operatives, Martins Oboh, said the suspect, upon interrogation, confessed to the crime, saying that she took the money to offset the debt she owed in her school.
He said the suspect was later handed over to the police at the ‘A’ Division for prosecution.
