Female Cop arrested in Delta for killing her own Cop-Husband

A female police sergeant, identified simply as Helen has been arrested by the Police authorities over the murder of a policeman, identified as Kelechi.

It was gathered that Kelechi met his death after he called at the home of Helen at Umuokwe village to see his daughter but Helen was said to have raised alarm that Kelechi was a thief and had come to kidnap her daughter.

A student, who gave her name as Gift, said that because of the alarm, some youths in the neighborhood gathered and attacked Kelechi, killing him in the process.

Kelechi was said to have married to Helen, but they later separated due to unresolved differences.

Following the incident, almost all the houses within the vicinity have been deserted for fear of arrest by the police.

“I feel that his decision to visit his daughter infuriated her. Kelechi has lived in this neighborhood over the years before he was transferred outside the state. He just came into town a day ago and decided to see his daughter who is living with Helen after their separation,” Gift said.

Delta Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Celestina Kalu, who confirmed the arrest of the policewoman, said that the suspect was being held in custody along with her accomplices in the killing of policeman last week in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area.
