The medical doctor, George Davidson Daniel, whose certificate was stolen by an impersonator (Read Here) and used to secure employment at the Federal Ministry of Health, has called on the federal government to give him adequate security because he life is under threat.
He stated this at a media briefing in Abuja on Wednesday, July 8, 2015.
“My coming here is to show that I exist and to prove that I have nothing to hide. All these events have been traumatic to me. I never thought a day would come when my identity would be exposed.
“Yes, I lost my certificate during my wedding and I got it back. I put my life in God’s hand as I do not feel safe,” Daniel said.
The Federal Ministry of Health has begun investigations to unravel the sponsors of the imposter. The ministry is also computing all salaries and allowances that accrued to Ugwu since he began working with the organisation.
Daily Independent gathered that Martins Ugwu Okpe stole the certificate of his medical doctor friend and used it to secure employment at the Federal Ministry of Health, where he worked for over nine years.
He has been arrested and paraded by the Nigeria Police and will soon be charged to court.
According to the Permanent Secretary: “The ministry is currently computing all salaries and allowances which accrued to Mr. Ugwu during his mischievous sojourn in the ministry, for full retrieval by the relevant authorities.
“Martins Ugwu was not operating in this ministry alone, he had both internal and external connections, and an additional petition has been made to the police for him to be properly interviewed up to the level of confession to this nation why he has to indulge in this type of criminal act and again those that were with him that are likely to inherit his shoes; that is another level of investigation that must go on.
“We have feelers that he has sponsors. He has men and women who are also stepping into his shoes, who are sending threatening letters and messages of all kinds to suggest that they are angry because the cabal is arrested.
“It is a form of cultism and so we can not be looking for Boko Haram in Sambisa forest while this one is terrorising people here and there. This organised gang does not mean well for this ministry,” he said.
