Man given 6 Months Imprisonment For Attempting To Steal Car

One, Timothy Onyeka, has been sentenced to six months in prison after he pleaded guilty for attempting to steal a Toyota car valued at N1.1million.

According to leadership, The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Funke Odubanjo at the Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun state on thursday, though gave the convict had an option to pay N40, 000 as fine.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Itaita Ebibomino, told the court that the accused committed the offence on June 5 at about 9.00 a.m. at Coronation Power and Gas Company, along Abeokuta Expressway, Ota.

Ebibomino had alleged that the accused was caught in the process of attempting to steal a Toyota Camry car valued at N1.1million, belonging to one Taiwo Lukuman.

The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Section 508 of the Criminal Code Volume 1 of the Revised Laws of Ogun State, 2006.
