Wizkid, Yemi Alade and Fuse ODG Blast BET Awards over treatment of African Artistes


Africa’s Biggest artistes, Fuse ODG, Yemi Alade and Wizkid have strongly condemned the BET awards for treating African Artistes in very disrespectful and degrading manner. They accuse BET of giving the awards backstage.
BET gives out the award before the main event for African category who were nominated for the 2015 BET Awards.
The organizers of the event had fixed the category hours before the main event and had ordered that winning artistes from Africa should be handed over their Awards backstage.
This, angered majority of African artistes and fans who said it was insulting and embarrassing to Africans as a whole.
UK/ Ghanaian Afrobeats star, Fuse ODG, who was nominated for Best International Act – UK, also felt slighted at the treatment of acts from African origin.
Wizkid, Fuse ODG and Yemi Alade were all nominated at this year’s BET Awards, but they all stayed away from the ceremony to receive their awards.
