Onyeka Onwenu Bags ECOWAS Award

THE ECOWAS Female Parliamentarians Association (ECOFEPA) has conveyed a letter of nomination to Lady Onyeka Onwenu, the Director-General, National Centre for Women Development, as its Ambassador at a ceremony, which will hold in Abuja on May 18, 2015.

The Bureau of ECOFEPA, which is a Network of Female Parliamentarians in the ECOWAS sub region, said in the letter that Onyeka’s nomination stemmed from her “creativity, leadership, initiative, extraordinary service and passion for gender related issues.”

A statement from the office of the DG also indicated that Lady Onyeka Onwenu will be honoured by AMOIZE MAGAZINE based in Dallas, Texas, USA, in August 2015.

The award is in recognition of the inspiring role Lady Onwenu has played over the years through her music, acting skills and advocacy around women and children issues.
