Ghanaian Celebrities to hold Vigil over Power Shortage on May 16

Ghana is currently rationing power, popularly known as “Dumsor“, due to shortfalls in production. The power crisis, which has been lingering on for three years now, has had adverse effects on human life and the economy.
Over the past few days, some celebrities including Joselyn Dumas, Lydia Forson, DKB, Efya, Ama K have expressed their frustrations with the government’s inability to find a lasting solution to the crisis.
The vigil is being spearheaded by award winning actress, Yvonne Nelson and rapper Sarkodie, actor Van Vicker has also urged president Mahama must fix “Dumsor” now.
The Vigil will be in the form of a peaceful procession with lit candles, touches, lanterns and bobo.
Yvonne Nelson is presently leading a campaign on Twitter with the trending hashtag #DumsorMustStop. The hashtag has received a lot of support from Ghanaians on Twitter with celebrities like Sarkodie joining in.
