Germanwings Airbus A320 plane crash in France


The Barcelona to Dusseldorf flight is believed to have crashed in the French Alps with 148 people on board.

French President Francois Hollande said he believed none of those on board had survived.

The low-cost airline owned by giant German carrier Lufthansa and Germanwings says it was aware of reports.

The Airbus plane, Flight 4U9525 disappeared from radar around 45 minutes after leaving Barcelona in Spain for Dusseldorf in Germany at 10am local time.

It is believed to have come down in the Digne-Les-Bains area of southern France.

The cause of the crash is not yet known.
