According to Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola, the President Jonathan Goodluck planned visit to Lagos led to the low number of available policemen on hand to take on the armed robbers.

Governor Fashola, made the accusation on Thursday night at the Intercontinental Hotel, Lagos, during the All Progressives Congress event “An Evening For Nigeria”.

During the event, the governor said: “Because Jonathan was coming to Lagos, all the vehicles and police in Lagos were sent to be on standby for him, and there was no available not enough to stop the robbery at Ikoyi-Lekki link bridge.”

These Nigerian politicians just make me laugh.

Governor Fashola is the Chief Executive of his state, he can order and request for police & soldiers to protect other areas of the state.

He fails to understand that the robbers came with heavy weapons and they were ready to shoot indiscriminately.

The government as a whole need to realize that security forces need to be trained to rapid response and proactive all the time, the time of lazy policing is gone.

If this can happen in affluent Ikoyi-Lekki area, then nowhere is safe in the state at anytime.

Very soon guys will start blaming President Jonathan if their lady cheat on them.
