Military Set To Capture Abubakar Shekau Alive

Nigerian Military Chiefs want to capture Abubakar Shekau Alive.

The military is believed to have resolved to take Shekau alive to put an end to insinuations of the invincibility of the militant leader, especially against past announcements of his demise by the military, which turned out not to have accurate.

The President of Nigeria has stated his belief that the leader of the Boko Haram insurgents, Abubakar Shekau, will be caught by the government before the election starting March 28.

He said this while speaking with ThisDay on Friday.

He said: ”God willing we will catch Shekau before the elections.”

Troops have been mandated to ensure that Boko Haram leader Imam Abubakar Shekau is captured alive.

Ground troops are expected to advance on Sambisa and Gwoza any moment from now, it was learnt yesterday.

Top on the agenda of the military are the rescue of the Chibok girls and the capturing of Shekau.

While the manhunt for Shekau begins, the military  are said to have reclaimed five key towns in Borno.

The towns are: Baga, Monguno, Marte, Gamboru Ngala, and Dikwa.

Let’s hope it will happen soon, the suffering and senseless killings is too much.
