Former Crystal Palace manager, Sam Allardyce has slammed Manchester United forward, Anthony Martial, following the Red Devils’ 3-2 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion in Sunday’s Premier League clash.
Glenn Murray and Shane Duffy put the hosts two goals up, before Romelu Lukaku pulled one back for United.
However, Brighton scored again through Pascal Gross. Paul Pogba’s 90th minute penalty was not enough as Mourinho’s men lost at The American Express Community Stadium.
Martial started United’s game against Albion but was substituted for Marouane Fellaini in the second half.
Allardyce believes Martial was not good enough for Jose Mourinho’s side and the France international has not improved in his style of play since joining the Old Trafford club in 2015.
He, however, said Martial is supposed to be on the same level with Manchester City stars, Sane and Sterling.
“Martial is not good enough for Manchester United if you want to be super critical,” Allardyce told belN Sports.
“He’s not the player they taught could develop after his £50m move to Old Trafford.
“He should have progress to be on the level of the likes of Manchester City pair, Sane and Raheem Sterling.”
