Paris Saint Germain’s 2-0 victory over Lyon has been overshadowed by the quarrel between world record-signing Neymar Jr. and Edinson Cavani over who should take set-pieces or penalties.
Both players were seen on live TV on Sunday arguing over who should have the right and the club’s coach has ordered them to sort out their differences.
After a Lyon own goal had given PSG the lead in the 75th minute, the home side were given the opportunity to double their lead from the penalty spot.
Cavani won a brief argument with Neymar over who should take the spot-kick, only to have the penalty spectacularly saved by Anthony Lopes.
Tensions between the duo had already surfaced earlier in the game when Dani Alves took the ball out of Cavani’s hands and gave it to Neymar to take a free-kick on the edge of the area.

There was also an argument between Danny Alves and Cavani over a freekick. In which Dani Alves gave the ball to Neymar to play.

PSG manager Unai Emery has told Neymar and Cavani to sort out their issues.
“The penalties are to be struck by a few players, one is Cavani and the other is Neymar.
“It takes a gentleman’s agreement on the pitch to take the penalties. Afterwards, we will arrange internally for the penalties, because I think both are able to score them, and I want the two to alternate in this exercise.

“If there is no agreement, I will decide. I do not want it to be a problem for us.”
Neymar has hit the ground running since joining the Parisian club in a world record £198m move earlier this summer, scoring five times in seven appearances in all competitions.
