Legendary music artist Prince, was found dead at his home and recording studio in Minnesota. He was 57 years old.
The prolific multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and virtuoso performer’s body was discovered at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota early Thursday morning, April 21st.
Police were called to a medical emergency at his Paisley Park estate earlier on Thursday, TMZ reported. An investigation is under way.
Prince had a medical emergency on April 15th that forced his private jet to make an emergency landing in Illinois. He was hospitalized briefly after the incident but appeared at a concert the next day on April 16th (pictured above) where he assured his fans that he was okay. Prior to then, he had canceled two shows due to health problems. His people told TMZ that he had been battling a bad bout of flu.
Prince was one of the most iconic artist in the past 4 decades, the superstar recorded more than 30 albums. His hit records include Purple Rain, 1999, Raspberry Beret, When Doves Cry, I Wanna be Your Lover, The Most Beautiful Girl In The World, Soft And Wet, Little Red Corvette. He sold over 100 million records.
His music genres include Funk, R&B, Rock, Pop, New Wave, Minneapolis Sound, Synthpop. He was also an actor and film director
Prince was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. He is regarded by many to be eccentric. He has been and continues to be an inspiration to so many artists worldwide.
